01.Design for the Environment

Celle
Introduced in 2005, Celle extends Herman Miller’s reputation for high performance, innovation and sustainable design into the mid-to-low price segment for contract work chairs.
The chair's defining feature is Cellular Suspension, a new concept first proposed by designer Jerome Caruso, using pliable molded polymer "cells" and loops to responsively flex in concert with the body's movements throughout the workday.

Celle follows Herman Miller's Design for the Environment (DfE) methodology, using the Cradle-to-Cradle protocols first developed by the team at McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC). The chair has 33 percent recycled content, and is 99 percent recyclable. It is manufactured at the company's GreenHouse seating operations facility using alternative "green" energy. Significantly, it can be disassembled in fewer than five minutes using common hand tools--critical to the true economic viability of any recycling claim.
The standard ergonomic features of the Celle include Harmonic Tilt, Passive PostureFit, pneumatic height, and tilt tension adjustability. The Harmonic Tilt mechanism is unique to the chair but modeled after the leaf spring design first developed by Caruso for his Reaction chair for Herman Miller in 1998, and later advanced with the Mirra chair. The tilt allows for a deep range of recline, with pivot points at the hip, knee, and ankle, and no varying resistance anywhere through the recline. Celle fits the 5th percentile female through 95th percentile male and is designed to meet worldwide codes and standards. It is covered by Herman Miller's 12-year, 24-hour-a-day, bumper-to-bumper warranty.
It also is GREENGUARD certified and MBDC Gold certified in certain specifications.
Celle is available in a broad array of color options. The rich, nature-based colors created for Celle complement today's trend to darker, warmer inner architecture, while a series of brighter, vibrant upholstery options offer a complete aesthetic range. Celle is available in two frame colors, six cellular suspension colors, and 20 upholstery colors.

Trespa Meteon® Panels
Fashionable and Durable Sustainability
Campuses and educational facilities demand building products that are sustainable, durable and great looking. Trespa Meteon® is an especially appropriate building material for learning facilities because years of research, expertise and knowledge went into its development. The result is a truly state-of-the-art exterior facade—that also makes a powerful design statement.
At the University of California San Diego, over 18,000 square feet of Meteon panels were utilized for a rain screen cladding system at the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology, or UCSD IT2. In addition to its sustainability, Meteon was chosen since it provided the required high-tech look that is also long lasting, colorfast, impact resistant and easy to clean.
As a rain screen cladding system, Meteon provides the building envelope superior protection from the elements. The open joint system equalizes pressure between the cladding and the load bearing wall, minimizing the amount of water penetration, and ventilation allows moisture to drain out of wall construction. Meteon is also ideal for fascias, sandwich panels, storefronts, soffits, balconies and balustrades. It’s available in more than 70 colors, including solids, metallic and patterns. Textures include satin, gloss, and rock.
From an environmental standpoint, Trespa was one of the first manufacturers of construction products to map the totality of its products effects by means of a life-cycle analysis (LCA)—from the source of the raw materials to the end of the product life-cycle. All Trespa panels are environmentally friendly, particularly in the recycling of raw materials and recovering energy.
Approximately 70% of materials used in the manufacturing process are derived from renewable resources. And when the time comes to remodel or rebuild, Trespa panels can be easily removed and recycled. Entire panels can be converted into energy through thermal recycling or milled and applied as filler to cellulose fiber core.

Trespa Meteon Panels:
-Meets ISO 14001 standards
-Cost-effective for new construction and re-cladding
-Weather, chemical, impact and graffiti resistant
-50 year useful life expectancy
-Easily modified and recycled

03.Solar Control Insulating Glass

SunGlass
Exclusive, new SunGlass™ Solar Control Glass delivers the beauty of the sun without the heat. Now architects can specify a neutral color glass that invites the sun in without making building occupants sweat. That’s because SunGlass™ delivers a combination of unprecedented solar control and visible light transmittance. It’s the look you want with the performance you need. SunGlass™ also leaves owners smiling too—with serious reductions in energy costs and HVAC equipment expense. What’s more, SunGlass™ reduces harmful UV rays so interior furnishings will look better, longer.
Unmatched Performance
The Light to Solar Gain (LSG) value of SunGlass™ far outperforms high-performance solar control Low-E glass. The higher the LSG  value, the better the glass performs at transmitting daylight and reducing heat gain from the sun.
Uncompromised Aesthetics
Unlike typical high-performance solar control Low-E glass, SunGlass™ is neutral in color and practically clear. So, architects and designers no longer have to specify dark or tinted glass to achieve high solar control performance. And SunGlass™ is only the beginning of our comprehensive offering.
Oldcastle Glass®
We are the pre-eminent supplier of Building Envelope solutions to the architectural and commercial glazing communities, including custom-engineered curtain wall, custom-fabricated architectural glass, operable windows, storefronts and doors. 04.Closed Loop Recycling

Encycle™
Engineered for the Environment: The Mohawk Group’s Encycle™ Backing System Sets New Standard for Sustainable Modular Carpeting. In a significant step to reduce the industry’s environmental footprint, The Mohawk Group introduces Encycle™, a patent-pending, PVC-free (polyvinyl chloride) modular carpet backing system. A model of sustainable design, Encycle is the only carpet tile designed with three thermoplastic layers and zero water-based components, enabling complete recyclability back into itself without separation. The innovative new backing system also incorporates 35 percent pre-consumer recycled content by total product weight and utilizes 28 percent less virgin raw materials.
To decrease dependency on non-renewable petrochemicals, Encycle products are made with 100 percent non-PVC thermoplastic. Utilizing advanced extrusion technology, products can be “thermally re-activated” or melted into new Encycle backing without ever separating the face fibers from the backing layers. Encycle backing is offered in Durkan Commercial, Lees, Mohawk Commercial and Bigelow Commercial of The Mohawk Group's six contract brands.
Encycle products combine The Mohawk Group’s advanced technologies with the company’s reputation for high performance flooring solutions. With superior strength against delamination and edge ravel, Encycle’s durability ensures that the carpet stays in use longer. Yet, at the end of their useful life, Encycle products can be reclaimed and recycled into new Encycle backing through The Mohawk Group’s ReCover program. A long-standing industry leader in sustainability, The Mohawk Group pioneers a strong focus on driving environmentally sound practices inside and outside of its facilities.

06.Indoor air quality

Xorel
Xorel – Sustainable, Beautiful, Functional Textiles.  Xorel is a woven high performance textile that offers designers, architects and building owners the unique combination of beauty and sustainability.  Woven from 100% polyethylene, all its cleanability and durability is derived from the inherent performance of the yarns themselves.  There are no added finishes or coatings to the textile.  This eliminates the need to add toxic chemicals for performance or worry about disposing of them.
The yarn itself is solution dyed, so that the color is integral guaranteeing colorfastness and lightfastness, and eliminating the issue of dye water disposal.  The yarns are also non-absorbent so that stains can not penetrate them, making cleaning the product much simpler.
All of this is accomplished without chlorine chemistry (PVC), plasticizers, heavy metals or the production of dioxin in its manufacture.  Xorel has been proved out in installations around the world for over 25 years.  It is available unbacked, acrylic backed or paperbacked for use on furniture, panels and as a direct application wallcovering.

Here are some important points:
-PVC, plasticizer, heavy metal free
